After serving with various stateside Naval Training Squadrons, FG-1D BuNo 67087 was delivered to the Salvadoran Air Force in 1957 where it served as ‘FAS-211’ until its recovery as a derelict from that country in 1972 by US based collector Bob Hood.

Bob held the fighter in deep storage for fifteen years before selling the dismantled hulk to Tom Camp of Livermore, CA.  The following year in 1989, the fighter was obtained by current owner Javier Arango and relocated to Rialto, California for restoration.  Over the next six years, his chief restoration specialist and private collection manager Chuck Wentworth restored the Corsair to airworthy condition.  Wentworth currently pilot’s the aircraft and showcases it annually on the North American air show circuit.
